It was one of the biggest builds Gas Monkey ever tackled when Richard and best friend Dennis bought a destroyed F40. The duo bought the car between them. The car had been crashed when a trusted mechanic took the car for a spin and was in a sorry state when the Gas Monkey crew took ownership of the car. Not only did they spend astonishing amounts straightening the buckled chassis, buying all the original panels and just getting it running, but they also added their own extras to the car. Changing the colour to this amazing black, adding a larger turbo, 3 piece alloys and custom shocks to name a few of the changes. As you can see they did a spectacular job on the car, but what will probably surprise you more is that this monster sold for just £675’000 by Baseball played Reggie Jackson. It’s safe to say a huge hit was taken on this car, but the Gas Monkey owner didn’t seem too upset.

Famous F40 Sale Flop?

Volkswagen chose the Shanghai motor show as the venue to premiere the Scirocco GTS. It all started well once the words turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine was spoken. It’ll be set to be one of the most agile 4 cylinder engines on the market, but with a top speed of around 150 and a 0-60 time of around 6.5 seconds the GTS won’t be landing any fastest hatchback awards anytime soon. With that said the GTS is about more than fast driving and 0-60 times. It’s a beautifully designed car, offering 18” alloys, custom GTS interior and fancy race stripes. It’s been a good looking car since it was launched 41 years ago and we’re sure the new GTS will be just as popular.

VW's Super Scirroco GTS

Driftworks have been hugely influential in the Drift scene, so it’s no surprise that when it comes to picking their team drivers they only want the cream of the crop. Jack Shanahan was announced as their latest supported driver. The youngster from Ireland has been making his mark on the scene across Europe in the Drift Allstars series in 2014, In the BDC series and of course on his home turf during the IDC series. Shanahan has already shown he means business after taking his BMW V8 Turbo’d S14 to first in the first round of the British Drift Championship. He may be one of the youngest drivers in the drift scene, but he drives hard and means business. We’d like to wish him luck for the rest of this year’s season.
