A few years ago while searching for an easier and less volatile method of coloring soft plastics
I discovered a type of super-fine, colored, pearlescent powder that can be used in coloring
both hard and soft molded plastics. We named it Alumidust, and it has totally revolutionized
what a home lure maker can do in terms of coloring both hard and ESPECIALLY soft plastics.
When using alumidust to color a hard plastic lure you plan to mold, simply “dust” the inside
of the mold before pouring your urethane. Some interesting and sometimes surprising color
variation can be made by dying the plastic a dark color and dusting the mold with silver, gold,
etc. The combinations are endless.
