BOOST ENERGY
EFFICIENCY FOR
YOUR BUSINESS
SAVE ENERGY @ HOME
For those who may spend more time in their home in the
next few months, here are some tips to limit energy use.
You don’t need to go out and purchase energy-efficient
products to conserve energy!
1. Change your HVAC filters regularly to prevent
clogging your filter and decreasing efficiency.
2. If it’s chilly, open drapes and blinds to heat your home.
When it’s hot outside, close them on the sunny side of
the house to keep heat out and reduce work for your A/C.
3. Cook outdoors when it’s nice. It’s fun AND it saves on
electricity use by trapping less heat in the house.
4. Don’t change your smart thermostat from “away” to
“home” preferences during the work day. Instead,
utilize space heaters or fans in your workspace to avoid
wasting energy heating or cooling the whole house.
5. Using a laptop computer instead of a desktop can
lead to energy savings.
6. Implement “screen-free” time for the whole family.
Even you! It will help cut energy use and help relieve
some tension as everyone works and plays on top
of each other.

1. Perform routine maintenance. If you are
experiencing downtime, you can take care of
routine maintenance tasks that may normally
slow production. Take advantage by performing
all system or equipment tuneups and ensuring
that all building controls are calibrated correctly.
2. Conduct an energy walk-through. Conduct an
energy walk-through of your facility. Analyze any
opportunities to improve processes, quality and
efficiency.
3. Analyze energy data. Review past energy bills to
identify energy usage patterns that may reveal
inefficiencies.
4. Optimize your workflow. Are work stations set up
to make workflow easier? If not, it’s time to think
about change.
5. Upgrade your equipment. Technology
improvements often mean better equipment
performance and efficiency. If you are
experiencing downtime, it may be an opportunity
to install new equipment without interrupting
production.
