LES is prepared for COVID-19 pandemic
Kevin Wailes, LES CEO
“Reliability and grid resilience
are top of mind in our industry,”
said Kevin Wailes, LES CEO.
“Lincoln Electric System has
planned for scenarios like
this and is prepared to do
what is necessary to ensure
continued electric service for
our customers.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic develops,
Lincoln Electric System continues to
monitor the local, state and national
status of the virus.
Reliability and grid resiliency are
central pillars of the energy sector and
organizations take every opportunity
they can to prepare for crisis.
LES has plans in place to protect
employees and to ensure operations and
infrastructure are properly supported.
These measures help enable electric
utilities to continue providing reliable
power throughout any emergency.
As part of those measures, effective
Tuesday, March 17, Lincoln Electric
System’s business lobby at 11th and
O streets closed to all customers until
further notice. This is as much to protect
vulnerable members of the public as it
is LES staff. It is imperative we slow the
virus’ continued ability to spread.
Customers are encouraged to pay their
bill online, by phone, mail, drop-box,
or pay cash at select retailers. Those
who cannot currently pay are urged to
contact customer service by emailing
[email protected] or calling
402-475-4211 to set up a payment plan.
To report an outage, customers can
continue to call PowerLine, LES’ outage-
reporting system, at 1-888-365-2412 or
report online at LES.com/outage.
Rest assured, reliability and safety are
the highest priority at LES. The Lincoln
area’s community-owned electric utility
goes through continuous crisis planning
to ensure there are procedures in place
to safeguard grid resiliency and is
implementing appropriate measures to
limit any impacts COVID-19 may have on
utility operations.

utility, follow LES on Facebook and

news as events continue to unfold.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CUSTOMERS
During times of crisis or confusion, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic, scammers oftentimes attempt to take
advantage of the situation. LES will NEVER call you and threaten to disconnect your power in 30 minutes if you don't
send immediate payment. If you think you’ve been the target of a scam, do not give them any information and call the
attorney general’s office right away. If you did provide information, please call the police department’s nonemergency
telephone number to report it.
