The organization also is starting a petition to draw the issue to the attention of lawmakers around the world in an attempt to prompt action.

"We have to make sure the world community understands the scale and nature of this phenomenon," Guyt said.

Opinion:

As a girl, this phenomenon hits close to home since I could be one of these girls, helplessly being exploited. What these pedophiles are doing is illegal, however police in first world countries don’t try to capture these men and instead just ignore the issue. How can these innocent young girls be exploited, and to not be able to get help. Terres des Hommes has shown that it is quite easy to capture these men. These men fell for Sweetie so easily that in 10 weeks, they could identify 1000 men. I don’t understand why -if a non-profit organization can identify these pedophiles- can't police. This is a part of the “secret” industry of countries in Southeast Asia; sex tourism. Now these men don’t have to go to another country to exploit young children, they can do it from the safety of their own homes. We should be asking, why don’t police officers help stop this, something that could become the game-changer in sex tourism?
