Message from Secretary General
By the grace of Almighty we have successfully created a glorious milestone in the history of University of Chittagong as well as in Bangladesh MUN community by organizing two revolutionary conferences CUMUN 2015 and CUMUN 2016. As we promised you before, I am deeply honored to present you Chittagong University Model United Nations 2017.
“ If Dhaka is in mourning, it certainly doesn ' t show it. An optimist will call it resilience— a city buckled but unbowed. A pessimist will call it resignation. But talk to area residents and they ' ll tell you that this time, it ' s a different emotion that overwhelms all others: Apprehension.”- CNN. On July 1-2 2016, twenty two innocent lives were lost in the deadliest terrorist attack on Holey Artisan Bakery, Gulshan Dhaka. The incident was the worst terrorist attack in Bangladesh ' s history. The local media described it as 7 / 16.“ Moralizing youth for a world free of terrorism”- with this theme we hope that our young generation will search for the solution.
I’ d like to give my gratitude to our respected Vice-Chancellor Sir for letting us arrange this conference, administration, honorable advisors and all the general students out there for having faith on us. My heartiest gratitude to the Delegates from over 41 different institutes of Bangladesh and abroad joining to enrich the discussion, foreign delegation from Nepal and India, national and international Executive Board members, gratitude goes to the United Nations Information Center, Dhaka and United Nations Youth and Students’ Association of Bangladesh for supporting us being the Strategic partner of CUMUN 2017 and our Sponsors- Well Group as our hospitality sponsor, German Resource Center as our logistics sponsor, Hasnain’ s Care for supporting us with our Delegate Kit, Spicy Zone for serving us delicious quality food and Badge Baba for supporting us with Badges and Coat-Pins.
Lastly I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards Mr. S. M. Mottakin as the Founding President of CUMUNA for inspiring me being not only my mentor, but also like a dear brother. Also, remembering Mr. Mohammad Imran, current Vice President of CUMUNA for always looking out for me. Further acknowledging the continuous support of Mr. Md. Ijaz Mahmud, the current President of CUMUNA, the Deputy Security General and Chief of Staff of CUMUN 2017 for their constant support to make this conference successful.
