A new beginning

One
A new beginning is the scent of rain for panting earth , the tugging of vocal chords in a newborn , a failed suicide attempt , the stained wine glass at your bedside , the resolutions written on the middle page in your journal an empty cinema , the melted ice at the bottom of your big red receptacle .
Two
New is the dime found lying on its head , is the proverb you ’ ve always ignored when you were 10 , but cling to in your 20s . is the salt lines trailing your cheeks to the corner of your mouth , is the smell of the salt in the corner of your mouth , is the cleanse you now know that both tears and salt are rich in . is acceptance .

Three Beginning is an old habit on life support , is the picture at the back of your journal of 3 exes ago . is a second chance , is building a foundation from whatever memories you had before the scent of pen kissing paper when God delayed your trip to eternity is the eviction notice you woke up to , is having to find somewhere to live other than your comfort zone .
