Beckwood recognizes that our workforce is our most precious resource , and our success depends on creating a safe work environment for everyone . We foster a safety-oriented culture and institute practices to ensure that all employees can perform their job tasks without injury . An engaged workforce is critical to creating a safe workplace , which is why employees are encouraged to report unsafe working conditions and propose more efficient ways of performing their job tasks .
Our Safety Committee meets twice monthly to develop and implement strategies that will prevent injuries and inspire safe work habits . They also schedule monthly training sessions covering a wide range of topics from fall protection and crane safety to emergency preparedness and first aid . Dates for these sessions are printed in every newsletter .
Beckwood is a smoke , alcohol , and drug-free workplace . There is a designated smoking area outside behind our production facility which can be used during scheduled breaks . We administer drug tests to anyone offered employment , for reasonable suspicion , and after all work-related accidents .
