Women and Leadership: Working Through Barriers and Biases This seminar identifies the specific challenges imposed on women in the workplace and provides an in-depth look at how they can combat these obstacles to maximize their strengths -- helping not only women, but all professionals and organizations as they work to build the leadership skills of their employees. April 15, 2020    8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.    $119 What does your Mission, Vision and Values Tell Employees About You and Your Company? Why Company Culture Matters. Company culture is important to employees because workers are more likely to enjoy their time in the workplace when they fit in with the company culture. Employees tend to enjoy work when their needs and values are consistent with those in the workplace. Like it or not, millennials are the generation driving the workplace changes of the near future. If you fail to attract millennial talent, your growth may be stagnated, and you could eventually hit a talent shortage. That said, millennials desire a strong company culture (in one dimension or another) more than anything else when deciding who to work for. If you don’t have a strong or appealing company culture, you’re going to start losing the recruiting war—and fast. In this workshop, participants will conduct their own “mini cultural audit” of their mission, vision and values statements gaining perspective of how they truly are a influencing component of employee engagement, retention and attraction of employees to your brand and your company. May 7, 2020    8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Cultivating a WOW Service Culture Satisfying your customers isn’t good enough in today’s competitive markets. Meeting their needs falls short of earning their loyalty and turns your business into a commodity where only Price is important. Winning the competitive battle demands that customers be “dazzled”; left “breathless” whenever they engage with your organization. The challenge is to build an organizational culture that serves the customer in every way. Not one that pushes products and services at them. Not one that forces them to engage with the organization in an unfriendly way. And not one that channels customer calls to a call center in some remote part of the world where communicating in the home language of the customer is a challenge for the call center reps. Participants will explore three simple ideas to help attract employees who love to serve, identify and get rid of rules that prevent great employees from doing the “right thing” and -- wait for it--learn to love mistakes and benefit from them!
