INTRO TO SCHWEITZER ENGINEERING LABS 351 & 751 RELAYS (SEL) Hands on training for operation of SEL 351 & 751 feeder protection relays via front panel controls or laptop computer. Demonstration and discussion of relay response to various fault simulations is an integral part of this class. In this training you will learn: • Function of relay front panel pushbuttons and LED indicators • Enable relay functions such as “One Shot” and “Non-Reclose” and “Hot Line Tag” • Differences in relay response between “One Shot” and “Hot Line Tag” and “Non-Reclose” • View real-time and historical metering information • Retrieve fault type, location and history information • Establish communication with SEL relays via a laptop computer September 4, 2020, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Cost: $395.00 TROUBLESHOOTING RESIDENTIAL SERVICE The troubleshooting workshop class is designed to help technicians troubleshoot residential services. This class will focus on no power, half power, low voltage and open neutral scenarios. With the eight-hour troubleshooting lab, the students will get a handson training experience. Customer service will also be addressed in the class. This class is designed for those who would like to have a better understanding on troubleshooting residential services. Line Technicians, Line Foreman, Line Supervisors, Meter Technicians and Safety Trainers are encouraged to attend this workshop. • Students will learn how to identify problems when troubleshooting • Students will learn how to use a fluke meter to help with troubleshooting • Student will have a better understanding of different types of problems that cause customer issues. September 18, 2020, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Cost: $395.00 INTRO TO SUBSTATION RELAYING | NEW Learn the fundamental concepts of how microprocessorbased relays provide protection of substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, substation bus and overcurrent protection for distribution feeders. In this training you will learn: • ANSI numbering system • Identification of substation equipment symbols • Understanding of One-Line and Three-Line diagrams • Application and connection of potential and current transformers September 11, 2020, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Cost: $395.00 METAL CLAD SWITCHGEAR This class is a hands-on opportunity for students to explore the physical construction and operation of deenergized 5 kV switchgear. Students will learn the function and location of various switchgear components. In this training you will learn: • Insert and withdraw 5 kV circuit breakers from cubicles • Operation and troubleshooting of circuit breakers and circuit breaker control circuits • Location of potential and current transformers for instrumentation and protective relaying • Identify personal protective equipment requirements September 18, 2020, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Cost: $395.00 INTERESTED in bringing these trainings to your workplace?
