Adjunct Awareness
by
Since numerous adjuncts work in their
fields full-time, they bring genuine and
practical situations to the classroom. We
acknowledge that the pedagogical and
field expertise of adjuncts needs to be
fostered and enhanced.
We encourage you to get plugged in to
your campus throughout the semester
so you can make a stronger connection
with the student population.
Also ask your Department Chair to put
you in contact with someone on the
campus/in a cluster.
Currently, the CTE acts as a conduit of
connections for collaborations, and
provides beneficial resources for both

horizons through a variety of
experiences including challenging
courses, thought-provoking
productions, and co-curricular
activities such as attending
conferences and professional plays.”

how the CTE might meet your needs as
an adjunct, please contact us. We want
to hear your ideas!

CTE Coordinator
The Center for Teaching Excellence
started as an idea from Dr. Jayne
Gorham. Simply put, she wanted an
opportunity for faculty to be able to
exchange ideas and learn from each
other in best practices. From that
simple desire, the CTE was born.
Since its inception, the CTE has
grown into a clearinghouse for all
the tools that support excellence in
teaching.
Not only do we organize and plan
your professional development
opportunities, such as Friday
workshops and Welcome Back
meetings, but we also have specific
subcommittees devoted to our full-
time and part-time faculty including
Grants, myCTE, Faculty Spotlight and
Faculty Enrichment.
