PROFESSIONAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES FUND (PLAF)
Eastern Florida State College recognizes that continuing professional
development is important and has dedicated $50,000 to supporting non-
tuition professional learning activities for individual faculty members.
IN THIS ISSUE
FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
See p. 2 for information on
one of our fantastic faculty
members, Jeanine Henry.
PLAF funds can be used for registration fees and travel costs for presenting
at or attending an academic conference, registration fees for webinars,
certification fees for workforce faculty, as well as for activities such as
transporting exhibition or presentation materials, professional membership
dues, etc.
After applying for PLAF funds, a faculty member’s request is reviewed by
the TPDC. From there, it goes to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the
Provost Council and the EFSC Executive Council for final approval. The faculty
member will be notified by his or her supervising administrator about the
outcome of the request.
Visit easternflorida.edu/go/plaf to apply and read more about the evaluation
process.
The deadlines to apply for PLAF funding are August 15, October 1, January 15
and March 1.
