CSM Game-Changer Issue with Cristiano Ronaldo 2019 BODY ISSUE - Lauren Flodquist | Page 351

CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or up- dated for latest trends and information in healthy living or lifestyle? SHAUN: I have a lot of friends in the fitness in- dustry who are highly qualified in terms of per- sonal training and nutrition. I get most of my information from them. Other than that, I watch certain Youtubers too. CSM: How important is food and nutrition to you as a model, athlete or as an individual? SHAUN: The food you eat is your fuel; you have to eat a sufficient amount especially when you are training regularly. I learnt this when I used to play basketball at a high level. We would train up to 3 times a day so it was at this point learnt the importance of your diet. In the modeling world, it is important to look aesthetically pleasing too. CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in maintaining your figure or shape. SHAUN: Regular training. I understand that it’s hard to find time to train, especially in the life- style that I have but I always try my hardest to train at least 3 – 4 times a week minimum. CSM: What are your ideas about non-organic food versus organic? SHAUN: This one is hard for me to answer as I am still learning about what diet best suits my new lifestyle. At the moment I am eating a lot of non-organic food which I will be changing very soon. CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus a vegan diet? SHAUN: I understand the benefits of being a veg- an. However, I just find it difficult to find enough vegan food supplements that satisfy my demands in terms of protein and taste. I have made small changes such as swapping my milk to coconut milk but other than that I won’t be going vegan any time soon. It is hard being a vegan, especially when you want a quick snack pre or post gym. CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat? SHAUN: I eat a lot meat, specifically chicken. I tend to eat carbs before gym in forms of either potatoes or pasta. At the moment I have a bad habit of eating crisps and humus at night. In the UK, we have a restaurant called Nandos, this is where I eat most of the time too.
