CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are
really necessary? Why is that?
SHAUN: I don’t think they are necessary. If
you’re training to be a body builder or to com-
pete on stage or in professional sports than Yes,
but for someone like myself who just wants to be
aesthetically pleasing than I believe just training
regularly and eating clean is enough.
CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are
you aiming now?
SHAUN: I want to get back to 90kg with a lower
body fat. I also want to improve my squat and
dead lift so they match my bench press.
CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and life-
style advisers out in the market already, what are
the factors that people should take into consid-
eration when hiring a personal trainer or online
coaches or maybe investing some time and mon-
ey to them?
SHAUN: I don’t understand why people use
personal trainers who are not in physically good
shape themselves. I believe that you practice
what you preach, so if they do not have a history
of being in good shape or if they don’t have a
reasonable excuse then I wouldn’t use them. In
regards to an online fitness coaches you have to
remember is that everybody has a different body
type and so they are not specific to you. Having
said that, I learnt most of the stuff I do from on-
line Youtubers, and then I just adjusted it to how
my body reacts the best.
CSM: As a fitness and health enthusiast, what are
the essential exercises you have to do? Why is
that?
SHAUN: Everyone always says that squats,
bench and deadlift are the most important exer-
cises that you must do as well as cardio. How-
ever I am lucky that I manage to maintain my
physique without doing dead lifts, training legs
regularly or cardio. I believe this is because of
my sporting past, I have competed in sports since
I could walk until I finished University. The ex-
ercises that I think are essential are Flat bench,
Incline Dumbbell bench, Chest Flys, Shoulder
raises and skull crushers.
CSM: Do you have any gym etiquette advice for
other people?
SHAUN: Respect the gym you’re in and always
help others that ask for advice or a spot. We’ve
all been a beginner at one point and someone
bigger helped us.
CSM: Fact or myth? Does working out daily im-
prove one’s sexual stamina or prowess during
sexual activity? Why do you say so?
SHAUN: Yes, it definitely boosts your testoster-
one. If I was to finish a big heavy session and
came back home to my girlfriend, It makes a dif-
ference for sure.
CSM: Fact or myth? Does living a healthy life-
style keeps you happy and young? Why is that?
SHAUN: Yes definitely, this isn’t just my opin-
ion it is a fact.
CSM: If you are our health ambassador and a
lifestyle advocate, how would you help promote
healthy living in school or in corporate world?
SHAUN: When I worked in schools with young
learners with behavioral issues I would always
use sports and fitness with my students to help
them engage in lessons. I believe that fitness and
team sports are essential in young people and can
positively affect they’re whole future.
CSM: A lot of your followers are curious to know
these, if there’s any food and beverage that you
cannot resist what would that be and why?
SHAUN: So much! I’m very bad with my diet
sometimes. I love KFC, McDonalds, Nandos,
Crisps and chocolate spread.
CSM: Any advice to individuals who wants to
gain weight and lean muscle? Advise to people
who want to lose weight and be sexy?
SHAUN: Eat more grilled meat and less carbs.
Try not to snack before bed and when you train
do pyramid sets. Start light and work to a 1 rep
max before dropping back down to a light a
weight which you can rep out.
