WHAT MAKES CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL AND
CROWLEY ISD SO SPECIAL?
Senior Hayden Ripple presented Reasons with a smaller
replica of the scoreboard sign during the on-field ceremony.
Reasons: I remember moving to Crowley and the
population sign said 508. That was many years ago!
Today it’s a much bigger community, but there’s still an
intimate closeness between the school, the students and
the community. You can get a quality education and really
make a mark for yourself. All you have to do is start here,
build, dream and I think you can reach your goals.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO HAVE THE
FIELD AT CHS EAGLE STADIUM NAMED IN YOUR
HONOR?
Reasons: It was a very, very special moment. Luckily, I
was able to share it with family, friends and old teammates.
It’s a great memory for me. To come back and know the
accomplishments I had at Crowley High School and later
in my career are recognized and commemorated in such a
special way is a big deal to me.
HOW DID YOUR TIME AT CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL
PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE?
Reasons: I was blessed to have great coaches and structure
at Crowley High School. Ray Sefcik was our head coach
and I learned a lot on how to play linebacker and how to
manage a defense. It was a very special thing for me to
have that tutelage as such a young player and to be able to
take that into college and later into the NFL. Because of
that, I had a little more knowledge about the game than
the other players I faced and that always gave me a slight
advantage.
Gary Reasons Field is now on full display on top of the
scoreboard at Eagle Stadium.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE CURRENT
ATHLETES IN CISD THAT HAVE ASPIRATIONS OF
COMPETING AT THE NEXT LEVEL?
Reasons: Dream and reach as high as you can. Always give
your maximum effort. It doesn’t matter where you are on
the depth chart. Give it your best and good things
will happen. If you aren’t a starter right now,
you can still support your team by preparing
your teammates and that will help you to be
ready to step in when your name is called.
