Resurfacing the Tennis Court
The owner may decide to change the type of surfacing with a different
outlook and features. For this purpose after the acrylic coating, another
surface is layered over the original one. You may also choose a sand fill turf
or interlocking modular tiles for resurfacing. Sand-filled turf is a densely
woven carpet and is filled with silica sand. It is easier and quicker to install
and require low maintenance.
Inter looking modular tiles are tiles with grid designs and usually allows
rainwater to pass through them. These surfaces are softer than the original
hard asphalt surface but are easier to maintain and in most cases do not
require intense and frequent resurfacing or repairing.
Whatever surfacing option the owner chooses they will work well in the
presence of a smooth and well balanced original surface. In case of choosing
either option, the owner is bound to repair the base first or the new upper
surface will lose its vitality and utilization. No surface can work on a base
with cracks or slops for it will retain water and will damage the upper layer as
well. Therefore resurfacing should be installed only after complete
assessment and repairing of the original surface.
