A: We eat wonton, dumplings, Chinese food, and we get red pocket money, and you have to watch Lunar New Year TV shows. Name: YoYo, Grade 6 Q: What is your favourite Lunar New Year food or pastry? A: I like to eat noodles and dumplings. Name: Leah, Grade 2 Q: Who do you celebrate your Lunar New Year with? A: My Family. Name: Livia, Grade 1 Q: What ' s your favourite part of the Lunar New Year? Why do people celebrate the Lunar New Year? For us, the Spring Festival is one of the most significant festivals in China and some other Asian countries. It is the beginning of a New Year. It symbolizes reunion, wellbeing, and new hopes for the future. New Year ' s Eve means erasing all the bad things of the past.
TEACHERS’ NEW YEAR ' S RESOLUTIONS

It’ s 2026, and spring is in the air! How are your New Year’ s resolutions going? Have you followed through, or are you struggling? In this article, we will ask teachers about their resolutions and how they are going.
Do you have a New Year ' s resolution( s)? If so, what is it? Ms. Steiger: My New Year ' s resolution is to spend lots of time outside at school and at home. Ms. Fitch: My New Year ' s resolution is to compliment strangers and say them out loud to them. It makes me happy, and it makes them happy. How are your New Year’ s resolution( s) going? Ms. Araujo: My New Year’ s resolution is to drink more water, and it’ s going fine. I have a nice big water bottle, and my students do a great job reminding me. Ms. Eady: I think it’ s going well! My resolution is to be kinder to myself and have positive self-talk. How do you plan to follow through with your New Year’ s resolution? Ms. Ferguson: I would say that my New Year’ s resolution is to spend more time hiking, and to do that, I need to start planning ahead. Ms. Sprinkle: My New Year’ s resolution is to get as many laps around Kent Field as possible by committing and making myself do it. Is your New Year’ s resolution the same or different from last year ' s? Ms. Sharma: Yes, I have a New Year’ s resolution. My goal is to learn Spanish on Duolingo, but I need to be more dedicated than last year. Ms. McLaren: It is different from last year’ s. My New Year’ s Resolution is to move my body more. How do you usually decide on your New Year’ s resolution( s)? Ms. Pendleton: This year, I want to try to change my earrings more often. I try to identify things that can enhance my life and have a resolution that is attainable. Ms. Harding: My New Year’ s resolution is to“ embrace” life. Every year, I come up with a word that I focus on throughout the year. How have you committed to your New Year’ s resolutions in the past? Ms. McLaren: I don’ t really make New Year’ s resolutions. I try to make plans about how to be healthy, to sleep more and read more( even though I’ m a librarian).
