feels like our team’ s hard work has paid off, and it pushes us to work harder. How has basketball helped you make new friends in school or out of school? Reya 7C: Basketball involves teamwork, so friendship kind of just happens when you’ re on a team. Angelina 7H: Basketball helped me make lots of new friendships because once you ' re on a team, you’ ll be with your teammates every single practice and in basketball, collaboration happens a lot. If you could give some advice to someone new to basketball, what would you say? Naomi 7C: To limit travelling and double dribbling. Zoe 7S: To have a good attitude and keep practicing. If you could describe basketball in one word, what would it be and why? Sofia 7S: Physical, because basketball is a physical game. Natalie 7S: I think stamina because you run up and down the court. What do you enjoy most about being part of a team? Chanel 7C: Everyone’ s super kind, welcoming, and enthusiastic. Yale 7H: My teammates are very supportive, and they hype up the game a lot. What ' s your biggest strength, and what area do you want to improve most? Bella 7H: I think my biggest strength is shooting, and I want to work on ball handling more. Alexa 7H: My biggest strength in basketball is dribbling, and I want to improve on shooting.

LUNCH LEAGUE

In Grades Six and Seven, you can be a part of a lunch league team. Every term, there is a new sport. In term one, there is volleyball; in term two, basketball; and in term three, badminton. You get assigned a team with Grade Sixes and Sevens. Grade Sevens get a chance to be the team captain. People in the lunch league program come to lunch every Tuesday and Thursday to have some fun!
What do you enjoy about being a part of the lunch league? Henny Hild 6S- I like practicing my skills to get better and challenge myself. Zoe Wang 6S- You get to talk to other people and make new friends. What is your favourite part of being on a team? Ayva Pabla 6S- We get to have fun together and compete. Lumin MacGowan 6S- It’ s fun to play together as a team, and being on a team makes the job easier. Why would you join the lunch league program again? Danica Lo 6S- Yes, definitely! I love being a part of a team. Mia Lang 7H- Yes, it’ s fun. How did the lunch league go for you this term? Lauren Louey 7S- It went okay, because I didn’ t know many rules. Kelly Xu 6C- It was good. Which lunch league sport did you like the most, so far? Lauren Mah 6C- Basketball, because I had a lot of fun getting to meet new people. Mandy Wang 6S- Basketball, because it’ s really fun and I like to tackle people. What was the best part of being in the lunch league? Sami Chu 6H- My teammates. Chloe Lam 7C- I liked being inside and competing. What new friends did you make in the lunch league? Mancy Wang 6H- I made stronger bonds with my friends. Aarya Dhiman 6H- I reconnected with old friends. Why would you like to participate in the lunch league next term? Gia Kalia 6H- I would because I like being in a team. Amy Liang 6S- Yes, I would because I play badminton outside of school. How did you feel about going to lunch league every Tuesday and Thursday after lunch? Ayla Sanaie 6C- I felt like it was a nice commitment to honour. Aria Lee 6C- I enjoyed it, and I felt proud when we won. How did your grade 7 team captains help you? Raya Hara 6C- They were very supportive, and they helped me. Victoria Hill 6C- They told us how to improve, and they were very kind.
