All in all, the grade fives seem to have a deep passion for basketball and have been working hard throughout the season to do their best. Some key highlights for them have been playing the games and spending time with their teammates.
GRADE 6 BASKETBALL

If you are participating in basketball, or if you are interested in basketball, this is the perfect article for you! This term, many Grade 6 students participated on the basketball team. Our Grade 6 basketball team is competitive, fun, and exciting.
What do you enjoy the most about basketball? Mila 6C: Playing with my friends, and getting better at it. Victoria 6C: Teamwork, throwing the ball in the hoop. What are some challenges that you faced in basketball? Raya 6C: I enjoy being with my teammates and the games in general. Danica 6S: Getting the confidence to do a layup. What do you find most challenging in basketball? Kelly 6C: Waking up in the morning Aria 6C: Rebounds, because I’ m not tall. Are you willing to play basketball in Grade 7? Ayva 6S: Yes, because I really like playing basketball and it’ s really fun. Grace 6S: Absolutely, I’ m very passionate about this sport. Have you learned any basketball skills since you joined the basketball team? Alicia 6S: Yes, I learned how to screen a box out. Avery 6H: I learned 5 out and screening. Has basketball helped you make any new friends? Charlotte 6H: Yes, I made new friends with students at other schools when we had a basketball play day. Keira 6S: No, but it has helped me connect with my friends more.
If your friend wanted to join basketball, what advice would you give them? Chloe 6H: Make new friends! Celine 6H: Go to the baseline!

GRADE 7 BASKETBALL INTERVIEW

The Grade 7 basketball players had lots of fun in the Term 2 basketball. Students learned new skills and had fun, whether someone was new to the sport or had played before; everyone got a chance to join in and be part of a team.
What was the most enjoyable activity you had in basketball? Milana 7H: The WPGA was a fun away game because we lost to them in the first game and beat them in the second game. Mia 7H: At the end of practice, we could play four-onfour or five-on-five basketball. What made you want to join the basketball team? Samara 7S: I’ ve played basketball a lot in PE, and I’ ve been in basketball teams before I was in Grade 7. Mila 7C: I thought that it would be good to use in my free time. What new basketball skills have you learned since you joined? Sophia Li 7C: They teach us some pretty simple plays. Sophia 7H: I’ ve learned how to do free throws and inbounding. Which do you prefer, playing in games or practicing drills better? If so, why? Emma S. 7C: I learned to press, screen, and communicate better with my teammates. Jaimee 7H: I enjoy playing games because you can put the skills you learned into games. How do you feel when your team scores a point? Jules 7C: It feels good when my team scores a point.
