CM:
Similar to the Yorkies, you guys have had a huge following on social media - did you ever believe that the club would grow to be as popular as it now is?
BA:
I remember turning up to the first club ride on a Tuesday night and no-one came along.
The following on the facebook group and on twitter is amazing, never thought it would grow as quickly as it has done and it still continues to do so.
We have a fantastic bunch of people that are always having fun and willing to help everyone else.
CM:
Can you talk us through what you offer as a club? (Anything from rides, events, kids - anything that you believe would sell your club to the public!!)
BA:
Hethersett Velo Club offers cyclists a chance to ride in a group, gain experience and have the confidence to ride on the road.
CM:
What does the future hold for Hethersett Velo? With more and more clubs now in the area, competition for a good group of members can be difficult, how is the club going to keep growing/diversifying and moving forward?
BA:
We are not a competitive club and never will be. We encourage people to get out on their bikes and have a good time.
We are good at what we do and we love what we do also.
With more and more people taking to the ride, there is plenty of access to some amazing clubs and with more and more starting every week, that can only be a good thing.
