Cricket Club Magazine recently caught up with their Chairman Chris Wiseman to find out more about how they are getting along. He told us, “I have been at OCC since I was eight or nine years old, so over thirty years. I did spend a few years away. I returned back to the club in 2012, became Secretary in 2015 and Chairman at the start of 2018.” “The biggest challenge for me is the same as every other Chairman you speak to, Club Politics followed by player Development, Club Development, Fundraising and keeping everyone Happy. It is very rewarding when it all comes together and the teams are winning and the Sun is shining. “The mood is the most positive it has been for a few years. We have installed two new skippers for the 1st and 2nd Team. We have also recruited a couple new players that will add strength and depth to the 1st team squad. “The offseason didn’t start too well as we lost our 1st Team skipper in November. Since we installed our New Skipper Dean Suter the atmosphere has really changed and is extremely positive. We really can’t wait for the season to start. 8 Issue 49 “We are looking to carry on improving the club both on and off the field in 2019. We have revamped the Committee during the winter months so a fresh look and impetus will help us drive the club forward. We are proud to be hosting the Lashing All Stars in August in a T20 match. We are also looking to expand our Floodlight games too. We were the first club in Shropshire to hold Floodlight cricket last year for the U19s, we hope to expand this to seniors this year. “Youth cricket is the life blood of the club so we have around ninety juniors on a Monday night. The Juniors are very important to me as
