Online top ups and faster PDQ machines: instead of your members topping up at the bar and holding up service for others, they can go online using their laptops at home or in the office and top up their accounts so that they’ve got more than enough when they come to the club for a match or social function. We also work with Paymentsense and their PDQ machines, which are often much faster than other providers’ PDQ machines and are on offer for FOC installations. Improve your club’s cash flow: when large numbers of your members start putting £50, £100 or whatever on their bar card accounts, your club’s cash flow soon starts turning very positive. Golf clubs have been making the use of cards and annual bar card top ups – typically £100 and higher - mandatory for many years for this reason. Run tabs for parties: when you’ve got outside functions, it’s much easier to enable an event organiser to run a tab for their guests, and settle up before they leave. Real time stock control: instead of regular stock taking checks, all bar supply orders can be entered along with an allowance for spillage, and then matched against the subsequent sales so that stock movement is known down to the last pint. That stops people helping themselves every now and then, a perennial problem in the quest for efficient and profitable bar management. Easier for the bar staff, faster service: any change has to make things easier for the staff so that they adopt a new way of working easily and quickly, and our system always gets a big thumbs up from any club’s bar staff. It also has an order interruption feature so that one order doesn’t have to wait for e.g. the Guinness to finish pouring before another order is entered and served. That means much faster service on busy occasions as well. Reports for everything to do with the bar and the membership: because our system’s used by so many sports clubs, it has got virtually every kind of report you could ever need. And the right reports are exactly what you want when the committee meets to evaluate the club’s situation. Future proofing: we’re not only constantly updating the system, but developing new apps such as ticketing systems for match days that identify members who’ve paid and visitors who haven’t. And now that so many people are using smartphones, we’ve developed a brilliant app for golf clubs that lets members check balances, do top ups, pay subscriptions, check the club news and so on, with the aim that this app will be adapted for other kinds of clubs as well. Don’t believe us, see what a cricket club says Mike Richardson is a member at the Lansdown Cricket Club in Bath and was involved in the club’s decision to invest in an Open Solutions EPoS & Membership system: “… we’re delighted we decided to install an Open Solutions EPoS and membership management system. We’ll soon know exactly how many members we’ve really got, and can ensure they’ve paid their subscriptions.” “Our members prefer using their cards because they’re easy to top up and they don’t have to remember to bring cash. Our bar manager’s using the built in real time stock control system and we’re starting to see the benefits of that as well.” “I like the reports we can now generate in terms of membership, subscriptions, bar sales and so on. And we all like the significantly faster service we now get at the bar!” “This is the whole point: as a club, thanks to our new Open Solutions package we’re really getting to grips with our bottom line, and what actions we need to take to ensure The Lansdown remains a successful business as well as a great cricket club.” www.sportip.biz 7
