woman is good enough to open for the firsts then that is what
she’ll do.
As a club we are pretty strong, our first team is in the
Premier League and it runs down from there with plenty of
young players coming through the ranks. We’ve got players
as young as 16 playing in the Premier League and firmly
believe that if you’re good enough then you will play. We
don’t believe in selecting based on politics.
We’ve also got a community outreach program which
looks to engage the local area that encourages people to get
as involved as they want to be at the club. We’re bringing
in a children’s play area, we’re displaying art from local
artists and we have great teas. Our ground is one of the most
beautiful in Norfolk and we have just installed new nets with
different surfaces which help to make this a club for players
to produce their best cricket.
We’ve also implemented some core values this year
and want The Wanderers to be a place where we support,
encourage and have fun. Those values are at the core of
everything we do and are ahead of anything else. We believe
that if we have a community where people can step away from
their ordinary lives and can feel encouraged and supported
and have fun, first of all we’ll win more matches and secondly
our community will be attractive to people of all ages and all
backgrounds.”
