Oswestry reflection so we’re hoping to push on and finish in the top half this year. Division 1 of the Birmingham League is at ta very high standard so it has been a big step up for us. Oswestry has always had a good youth section; we’re a very big club since we’ve had the new clubhouse built and are a great community set-up with cricket remaining the main focus. Having the new club has really pushed the club forward from a playing sense as well because people enjoy coming here. A lot of our current group of players grew up together so it’s a close knit group that we’ve got here. Thanks to our strong junior section we’ve always been able to rely upon young players coming through which has been really important for us. It means a lot to these players that Oswestry do well and that is something that is very important to us; you can’t manufacture a club spirit. The biggest challenge for the club moving forwards will be doing well in this league. It’s such a step up to this league and it’s a big challenge to be competitive. That’s what we want to do though and who knows if we can get off to a good start we could be looking towards a top half finish. Our long term target is to make it into the Premier Division of the Birmingham League. We always want to go as far as we can and to push on. It won’t be easy but if we feel it certainly won’t be for a lack of ambition. We’re a competitive club and obviously we want to win but the great ethos of our team is to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves win, lose or draw.” All of our beers are brewed by traditional hand crafted methods and we are committed to providing great cask beer, in the best possible condition.
