IT has been a pretty big topic so let's talk about IT. Get It? On a serious note, this movie has been greatly anticipated by many, who would say that they love it, because who doesn't love a clown who eats little kids, right? The place of this well known tale takes place in Derry, Maine, a small suburban town in which the majority of the population is optimistic. And it is quite apparent who the outcasts are and who fits in. This small town has a dark past however, one to which many will not explain. As children start going missing, including Georgie, the brother of the main character Billy, the outcasts or as they call themselves the “Losers” (Billy or Bill, Beverly, Richie, Eddie, Stanley and Mike) come together and try to get to the bottom of the missing children. A plot full of twists and turns arises as each child's worst fears are realized, such as Beverly and her fear of her father or Billy and his fear of finding out his brother is still alive. The fact that Billy doesn't know if Georgie is still alive and having to face this possibility is like a shot to the face…..you'll get that one when you see the movie. The movie is, as many would say, full of scenes that send shivers down your spine.
Many of the people saying this are fellow peers and teenagers, some even here at Silver Creek. Many were freaked out as the scenes sprung to life on the screen. Many were freaked out at the sight of Pennywise, the horrifying , fear inducing clown. Many were amazed and also skeptical at just how well the part was played. And the thing was, the little things had the biggest effect on the viewers. Such as how fast the clowns mood could change along with his voice. Oh gosh the voice. He went from Spongebob to James Earl Jones. This is what sold it for many, the astonishing acting. As for a few students at Silver Creek, there were many comments and opinions to be had. Skylar Davidson, a sophomore here at Silver Creek was very enthusiastic about the film. She said ecstatically: “I absolutely love it, it's my favorite thing ever!” It completely understood this enthusiasm as well being that I'm a fan of the story as well. Many fans of not only the story, but Stephen King overall, were super excited to see the recreation of the old story/film. And this movie was definitely a “glow up” as some people say.
