to me left and right, and empty juice pouches in my sight. I knew I was going to have to clean up
all that before I went to bed, but that isn’t the focus now. The focus is the game, and I need to
survive. I am devoting my entire night to playing this game.
After a couple of rounds more, Sam and I decide this game is not going to be fun unless
we set some goals or challenges between each other. At first we’re skeptical of doing anything
of the sort, but as we begin to set some challenges for each other, we begin to enjoy it. One
round we will have to stay in one spot the entire round, the next we would have to touch an
exploding cake and avoid dying. Each round passes with laughter of our failures or the hilarious
attempts at our given challenges. As time passes by we each both become more self-aware of
how we can succeed in these given obstacles and challenges. We try to outsmart each other by
wording our challenges differently, or giving specific restrictions or directions. However, each
time we seem to continue to work our way around this.
Eventually, of course, it becomes too easy to beat each other’s objectives. We leave the
game and talk nonchalantly in chat, discussing the games we are able to play (it takes a bit to
decide, since we both don’t care as we are fine with whatever game either of us choose).
However, as the time passes by, we realize it would be a good idea to actually get some sleep.
Sam being less enthusiastic about gaming than I am (knocked down by a lot of notches), is not
as saddened as I am. The thought-to-be so soon of the night falling, will soon turn into an earlyrising morning.
