Summer will soon be upon us. I know that those
of you that have endured a hard winter are looking
forward to the sun filled days of hanging out by
the pool, gardening, and vacation.
I have to admit that Summer is not one of my
favorite seasons., I'm more enthralled with fall and
winter no heat, no bugs etc but I do have fond
childhood memories of summer time. I looked
forward to school being out, sleepovers, chasing
lightening bugs, water gun fights
on those hot days, carnivals and much more.
I can't say that those same activities envoke the same feeling in my adult life today, I do however find myself wanting to create new ADULT memories that dont involve swimming or amusement parks.
On my bucket list is to have an old fashioned picnic, not the throw a plastic gingham cover on a picnic table picnic a real sit down on the grass or sand, pull your meal out of a picnic basket picnic! Simple enough right? Seems like these days tho everyone is so busy with texting and watching tv its like asking for a miracle to achieve a simple picnic and get everyone to sit down for a handmade meal, but I'm takikng it as a challenge.
The next task i have in early summer is moving and downsizing yet again.
I thought after my last move over a year ago that I had truly downsized after all the treasures I sold in yard sales, give away and took to the thrift store but after spending seven hours in my ktichen floor packing i realized I had not decluttered and downsized NEARLY what I thought I had. So with that said my summer will be a bit hectic and crazy but I look forward to the challenges and the simpler things. I hope no matter what adventures you take, you enjoy your summer and create new and fun memories with your families,
Happy Summer everyone
