As a Disabled Model myself, I am in awe of all you have achieved.... We look forward to welcoming you back! What made you first become a model? I first became a model after I’d been in a wheelchair for around a year or so. After I’d rehabilitated and sorted my physical health back out, I started noticing certain things about life with a disability. One prevalent thing I noticed was that I now felt like I wasn’t being represented in mainstream media, fashion and advertising. This feeling of not being represented basically gave birth to my motivation to pursue a modeling career and help represent people living with disabilities. How did you feel when you did your first ever fashion show or photo shoot? My first ever paid job was with Public Transport Victoria, part of an advertising campaign they’d end up using on their trams in Melbourne. It was great to take that first step of entering the industry and all the crew I was working with were extremely friendly and treated me like any other model. So I absolutely loved that. It’s not so much a role model - but I grew up absolutely loving music videos. So I think that whole creative side of things definitely relates to the modeling industry. I also absolutely love Beyoncé and grew up with Destiny’s Child as my goddesses. But, again, I think it comes back to the creative side and probably also standing up for what you believe in.
