GHANA DESIGNERS COME TO AMERICA
Sally is also the founder of Sallet Foundation “a Ghanaian not for profit organization committed to providing vocational skill training, business advisory service and development for women”, with the mission of helping women becoming self-sustained and achieving greater economic independence. She hopes to improve the standard of living of most women in Ghana by empowering them economically and building upon their skills and talent. Her dedication to helping other women is certainly admirable. Through her talent she was able to break the stigma of women in the workforce. She offers through her foundation a platform where women can learn a skill that will later set them up for a career and/or entrepreneurship.
Sally is definitely not new to the American fashion industry, her first appearance was during Miami Fashion week where she introduced her line at a vendor booth. During that time Miami Fashion Week was putting the emphasis on African Fashion. She later participated at a small trunk show administered by The CCWC Network Corp. to showcase her work at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida which was later published in HIP magazine.
The relationship between CCWC and OHEEMAA would soon take root, she is certainly the definition of a strong woman, to have traveled from one continent to the other to follow her dream. Her journey is truly to be admired.
