Sock Owl,lion, cat and rose How to make the cat and lion: The toe part becomes the head, the top part becomes the body and the heel will become the hands. Lay the sock out flat with heel pointing upwards. Draw leg shapes on the top of the sock. On the toe part of the sock draw ear shapes, make the ears more pointed for the cat and rounder for the lion. Cut out on the lines through both layers of the sock. Sew around the legs and turn in the right way, stuff, then using a running stitch along the top pull up tightly and fasten off. Repeat this process for the head. Then attach to the body. Make the arms by cutting the heal in half and rolling each one up to make a sausage shape, secure with a few stitches and attach to the sides of the body. For the cat make a long thin tail using any leftover part of the sock roll up tightly and secure with a few stitches then attach to the back of the cat. Add detail to the face by adding felt and embroider the whiskers with cotton. You can also add a felt rose or heart to the belly if you wish. For the Lion make a tail by twisting or plaiting some wool and sew to the back Add some loops to head with wool to represent the mane, then add face details with felt and embroidery. You can of course make any animal you like using the same methods.
