His beer-soaked essay, The Great American Smoker, was the winner of the 2017 GonzoFest Literary Contest. After twenty-plus years as an executive in the beverage industry, Fred is embarking on a new path as a freelance consultant on company culture and craft ideals. Holly Cline Columnist, Craft Heroines | Writer A true communications professional, Holly Cline’s comprehensive experience includes PR, marketing, internal communica- tions, brand positioning, event planning and editorial writing. After working agency-side for nearly a decade, Holly founded her own firm, 331 Communications, in 2011. By way of Seattle, Amelia Island, Raleigh, and New York City, Holly now lives in the heart of Atlanta’s Buckhead and enjoys eating (and drinking) at various local restaurants (she was recently voted “favorite regular” at one) and grabbing a beer from one of the metro area’s craft breweries. Holly also loves to travel and is a die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan (we dare you to utter the word bandwagon to her, and yes, she’s still upset about “that call” during Super Bowl XLIX). Jerry Gnagy Columnist | Founding Member and Co-Owner, Against the Grain Brewery Jerry Gnagy started brewing beer in grade school at the age of 6 and learned quickly that he was slightly better than medi- ocre. During his formative years at Adams College, he won the big tricycle race with his fraternity Lambda Lambda Lambda propelling them over the Alpha Betas, thereby taking control of the Greek Council. Unfortunately, he blew out his Vitoglan- nis on the last lap and was forced to start Against the Grain Brewery which was the only career path where he could utilize his 5th-grade fart-joke skillset. Shawn Stevens Guest Contributor, The Copper Onion | Welder Fabricator, Vendome Copper & Brass Works Shawn Stevens became a Union Sheet Metal Worker in 1978 and has been employed at Vendome Copper and Brass Works, Incorporated since 2011. Last year he lectured at New Mexico State University on the history of Vendome in both a class- room setting and at a social tasting for a charity benefit. He has written articles for two web pages, The Alchemist’s Cabi- net and The Whisky Chicks. He is a Bourbon Ambassador through the Stave & Thief Society and received his certification from the Distilled Spirits Epicenter in 2015. He not only is a member in good standing with The Bourbon Brotherhood but recently gave a historical tour of Vendome to 125 Brothers.
