Elysa Matula

Elysa Matula was accepted into the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati , which boasts only a two percent acceptance rate . In this program , she will take a wide range of workshops , seminars , and lessons in dance , acting , costume , and design , among others . Elysa had a passion for musical theater at a very young age , and in the sixth grade , Elysa began her journey in CPA Arts . She said , “ I was drawn to CPA because of how arts , academics , and athletics are all on the same level of excellence .” She went on to take the maximum amount of creative classes offered .
Elysa shared many fond memories during her time at CPA , like performing in Shrek as an eighth grader and Our Town as a senior , that she will carry to Cincinnati . But beyond the many performances she was a part of , Elysa said , “ It was the support of my teachers and the community I found in the arts that made all the difference .”

Samuel Mazzo

Samual Mazzo is enrolled in the Nascar Technical Institute in Mooresville , North Carolina , more commonly known as “ Race City .” This fifteen-month program teaches students fabrication , welding , engine basics , crew essentials , and aerodynamics , among other topics . Samuel ’ s love for racing began at a young age , and he shared he ’ s eager to “ pursue driving professionally and also deepen his understanding of automotive mechanics ” to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming part of a winning NASCAR team .
During his time at the Academy , Samuel was a dedicated student and especially enjoyed history classes taught by Mr . Carpenter . Samuel recalled , “ Mr . Carpenter always pushed me to strive for my dreams . Despite my aspirations lying beyond the realm of history , he was deeply invested in my future .” He added , “ CPA has instilled in me the belief that regardless of our life ’ s work , our ultimate goal is to glorify Christ . I hope that this new chapter in my life will do just that .”

Samuel Bellanger

Samuel Bellanger was accepted into Vanderbilt University ’ s Reserve Officers ’ Training Corps ( ROTC ) program . The Go Gold Battalion at Vanderbilt University began in 1947 and is a renowned unit for training , developing , and commissioning officers of all branches into the United States Army . Furthermore , Samuel received an esteemed scholarship from ROTC and plans to major in Biomedical Engineering .
Samuel explained how participating in Ms . Romaine ’ s Molecular Genetics course cultivated his interest in the sciences . In this class , students combined science , technology , and social impact to consider all aspects of bringing a new medicine to market . This exercise along with his other mathematics , science , and research studies guided Samuel toward his passion for biomedical engineering and his aspiration to serve his country . Samuel is one of five students at the Academy who are matriculating to serve their country .
