Luke Altman

Luke is headed to Purdue University to study
Aerospace Engineering . As a freshman , Luke joined TICE ’ s Center for Inquiry + Design taking various STEM courses and electives .
His passion for analyzing and solving problems fully materialized in AP Computer Science
Principles taught by Instructor of US Jon Kelley . “ Mr . Kelley cultivated a space of learning in his classroom that I believe to be invaluable .
CPA teachers consistently made room in their schedules for one-on-one instruction and additional learning opportunities ,” says Luke .
Luke chose Purdue University for the school spirit and traditions , esteemed honors college , and resources for engineering students . He plans to join a rocket club and use the knowledge he has gained from his engineering classes at the Academy , specifically a unit on bottle rockets and wind tunnels , to inform his coursework . At graduation , Luke was recognized with the Distinguished Senior Award , an award given to one senior who is honorably distinguished during his or her tenure at the Academy .

Ford Bunton

For as long as he can remember , Ford Bunton has dreamed of becoming a pilot .
He shared , “ My dad was in the Navy , so you could say aviation runs in the family .” Ford will follow in his father ’ s footsteps and in the footsteps of Middle Tennessee State University aviation students , dating back to
World War II .
Ford has been accepted into MTSU ’ s Aviation Program , where he will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace with a Professional Pilot Concentration . While at the Academy , Ford thrived in his classes , especially Physics with Ms . Beasley . At MTSU , Ford and his peers will spend their first semester learning flight basics , including Physics concepts and principles , many of which Ford has already mastered . When reflecting on his time at the Academy , Ford said , “ I am thankful for how CPA promoted me pursuing a distinct career path .”

Ellie Calhoun

Accepted into Boston College , Ellie Calhoun is committed to furthering her knowledge in biomedical sciences . While at the Academy , Ellie was the co-chair of TICE ’ s Center for Inquiry + Design , taking numerous STEM courses during her tenure . She knew she ’ d found a real interest when she took her first Biology class . Throughout her time in the upper school , Ellie continued to grow and learn , taking other related STEM courses , like Genetics and AP Biology .
Before her senior year , Ellie participated in the Discover Biomedical Research Summer Program at Vanderbilt University , gaining invaluable insights into the medical field . Additionally , Ellie noted that her spiritual growth was deeply inspired by the Bible classes she took . She shared , “ The Bible classes at CPA shaped me , and learning how science and the Bible intersect has given me a sense of confidence as I step into the world .”
