3DART2 3DART3 Three Dimensional II, III ½ credit/semester Grades 9 - 12 Take your skills in ceramics and sculpture to another level! This class will improve the consistency and quality of your ceramic creations. The elements and principles of art will be studied and applied to a variety of three-dimensional projects. You will learn how to fire your own ceramic ware and create new finishes. This course may be taken more than once. Projects will vary each semester. Prerequisite: Three Dimensional Art I or Three Dimensional Art II TRART1 TRART2 TRART3 Traditional Arts & Crafts I, II, III ½ credit semester Grades 9 - 12 If you need a break from the standard routine, try this class! You’ll learn a variety of traditional crafting techniques. These could include, but are not limited to stain glass, papermaking, stamping, flower pressing, slip casting, mask making, weaving, candle making, beading, stepping stones, paper machete, soft sculpture, dough art, basketry, pysanky, counted cross-stitch, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, weaving, etc. This course may be taken more than once. Projects will vary each semester. COMART Comic Arts & Graphic Novels ½ credit semester Grades 10 - 12 Create your own cartoon character! This course connects literature with the visual arts. Students develop visual images from written text; utilizing comics as a format for expressing opinions, exploring people, cultures, politics, ideas, conflicts, dreams and tragedies. Course work will include a historical overview of comics, writing story lines, designing characters, developing drawing styles, and establishing storyboards. Prerequisite: 2D Art and Consent of Instructor DIGART Digital Arts & Animation ½ credit semester Grades 10 - 12 This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skill demanded in the Computer Graphics and Computer Animation fields. In this course students will develop the concepts for and create the storyboards for various animated pieces. Some study of professional movies will be included. The movie will be created using a series of still photographs of the characters with minor movements between each still photo. This course may be taken more than once to take your mastery to a higher and more complex level. Prerequisite: 2D or 3D Art and Consent of Instructor 18
