Foreign Language AF1 may apply to the follow ing courses (see additional fees description Pg 16) Course Code Course Name Credit Prerequisite: Placement assessment and SPAN Spanish 1-5 1 See Description APSPAN AP Spanish Language 1 Spanish 1-4 Spanish 1-5 Each level of Spanish progresses in the study of the language, culture, conversational patterns and skills (oral and written), reading/writing of the language. The intensity of the study progression increases per Spanish 1-5. Placement into level is per student proficiency not how many years of study. Instructor will measure throughout the year as well as a course placement assessment. (Spanish 4 and Spanish 5 Cum Laude Recognition) AP Spanish Language (Cum Laude Recognition) This course is intended for students who wish to develop proficiency and integrate their language skills, using authentic materials and sources. Students who enroll should already have a basic knowledge of the language and cultures of Spanish-speaking peoples and should have attained a reasonable proficiency in using the language.
