KANSAS CLOVER CLASSROOM COMING SOON!
We had lots of great workshops planned for you in March and April. Since they have to be postponed, we are working with Extension staff across Kansas to bring you a new way to try out new skills in a variety of 4-H project areas. The Kansas Clover Classroom will feature hands on learning activities and challenges you can do at home. Watch for more information on the front page of the Kansas4-h.org website in the near future.

4-H Club Day is an opportunity for 4-H members to showcase their public speaking and presentation skills. Barton County Club Day was held on Feb. 23 in Ellinwood and Ellis County Club Day was held March 1 in Victoria. There are many resources available for selecting a topic, putting together a presentation, and speaking effectively.
(Barton County) Nearly 70 youth braved a cold and rainy day to participate in public and extemporaneous speaking, prepared and presented demonstrations (showing how to do something with a finished product) and illustrated talks (telling how something is done), music presentations, and group events such as club skits or model meetings. Model meetings require a great deal of preparation and practice as they present a meeting with required motions and parliamentary procedure for a judge.
Those receiving top placings in project talks, demonstrations, illustrated talks, and reading qualify to present during the Kansas State Fair. In most years, they would also qualify for a regional club day competition which had to be cancelled due to health concerns.
