National 4-H Week

As part of the ongoing 4-H Grows True Leaders campaign, the National 4-H Week theme for 2020 was Opportunity 4 All. National 4-H Week was held October 4-10 and is a time to celebrate the long-standing history of youth development through the 4-H program. We all know true leaders when we see one – they lead by example, work well with others, endure through challenges, and stick to a job until it is done. Many youth aren’t prepared with the skills they need to be the future leaders in our communities, businesses, and civic organizations.

One of the Cottonwood – Barton 4-H members noted that Opportunity in 4-H means serving as a mentor, giving back to her community, and meeting new people and experiencing new things.

4-H provides an environment to explore interests, develop skills, and grow in confidence all well practicing leadership, citizenship, and communication skills! The new 4-H year began October 1st and the Cottonwood Extension offices can provide more information about 4-H and how to enroll.
