Lower Your Risk of Breast Cancer-
Stay Strong Stay Healthy begins October 26-
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is second to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in American women. This program will help identify the risk factors for developing cancer and will give examples of lifestyle choices that will help reduce the risk of breast cancer. Speaker is Berny Unruh, Cottonwood District Extension FCW Agent.
Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an 8-week strengthening program to help older adults regain strength while improving their balance, flexibility and overall health.
A class is scheduled to start October 26th at 10 am and will be held each Tuesday and Thursday until December 16th. The cost is $20.00 for all 16 sessions. Before participating in the class, members must complete a consent form and a questionnaire about their health status.
Taking a New Look at Fermented Foods
Join Donna for an educational program about making fermented foods in a wide mouth canning jar. Based on the Fact sheet Donna wrote last year titled, “Taking a New Look at Fermented Foods,” you will find out how easy and fun it is to make Kimchi or sauerkraut. The free program is set for Tuesday, October 5th, 5:30 PM at the Hoisington Library. Hope to see you there!
