Cottonwood Connections December2022 | Page 2

Hello my name is Tamara Robertson. I am from Dodge City, Kansas. I was a 12 year 4-H member, where I did almost every project there was. A few of my favorite projects are trap shooting, photography and sheep. Now I’m a volunteer for the shooting’s sports program in Ford County. I was also a part of the Ford County Exchange group and was able to travel to Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I loved getting to travel to new places and see their 4-H programs in other states. I enjoyed going to camp at Rock Springs and then when I was old enough I went as a camp counselor; my favorite part was always being around my friends. In 2019 I was a shooting sports instructor at Rock Springs Ranch, where I taught the importance of safety around firearms. For the summer of 2021 I was the Barton County intern. I had the opportunity to host a day camp as well as help with others.

I graduated from Fort Hays State University in December with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Growing up I have always wanted to be a 4-H extension agent.  Some of you may recognize me from last summer as I was the 4-H Assistant in Ellis County. During summer I was able to help with several day camps, along with helping during the county fair. At the end of the 4-H year I was able to organize the 4-H Achievement Banquet. I am excited to step into my new role as the 4-H Youth Development Agent. I look forward to supporting the 4-H and youth programs in Ellis County, as I am thrilled for this opportunity to share my passion of 4-H with others!

Welcome-Tamara Robertson
