During KYLF (Kansas Youth Leadership Forum), Melody was selected to the Kansas 4-H Youth Council as a delegate to the National 4-H Conference in April 2025! The National 4-H Conference is a working conference in which youth and adults, at the invitation of the Secretary of Agriculture, assist in the development of recommendations to help guide 4-H Youth Development programs nationally and in their communities. The event provides youth the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills to reinforce the
Forty youth and ten adults participated in the 2024 Beyond Ready Officer Training in November. Youth from the Midway District and Hodgeman County joined youth from the Cottonwood Extension District for an evening of fun, discussion, and hands-on activities to learn about their 4-H roles. Great volunteers helped lead the different roles and parent discussion,
attitudes and motivation that will give them a heightened sense of responsibility and capacity to connect with others as active member of society. Youth will engage in educational activities to explore, practice and master civic engagement skills and personal development to make a difference in their community, country and world. Melody is a 10-year member of the Hoisington Jets and has served in many leadership roles, including co-superintendent for 4-H Visual Arts during the Barton County Fair.
