Congratulations to those Ellis County 4-H members that participated in 4-H Day on March 6th. We had 85 entries with about 40 participants. Activities done were demonstration / illustrated talks, project talks, reading, extemporaneous speaking, show & tell, talent and many more. We had two clubs participate in club skits and another did a model meeting. 21 individuals and 2 clubs that placed top blue had the opportunity to go to reginal club day that was held in WaKeeney on March 25th.

The Barton County 4-H Junior Leaders planned an educational trip to Branson MO over spring break. Junior Leaders worked together to prepare part of their meals and experienced the Branson Aquarium, Dixie Stampede, the Titanic Museum, and Fantastic Caverns as part of their trip. Many thanks to Melissa and Nathan Woydziak for serving as chaperones.

4-H members across our district have been focused on communication skills that last couple of months! In Barton County, those participants who had top placings at our local club had the opportunity to present during a regional club day. Seven counties sent their best speakers, skits, and model meetings to Great Bend on Friday, March 11. The nearly 100 participants received additional feedback from judges to continue to improve their speaking and presentation skills. Additionally, 4-H members across the state who had top placings at their county club day have the opportunity to participate in the Communications Presentations during the Kansas State Fair in September!
