For the first 25 residents in the City of Hays, that collect a sample and bring it to the Cottonwood Extension District Office 601 Main Street, the City of Hays and KSU Big Creek Middle Smoky Hill River Watersheds will cover the cost of the soil test.  This helps our Hays Community to reduce excess fertilizer from being applied and helps protect Big Creek.  For questions you can call Stacie Minson, KSU Watershed Specialist at 785-769-3297.
