Personal Development
Personal development is an integral part of every Raleigh
expedition. Volunteers are encouraged to develop
throughout via experiential learning. A number of tools are
used to facilitate this process:
1-2-1s
At the start of every expedition, volunteers have 1-2-1s
with the volunteer managers. These conversations ensure
we understand exactly what each volunteer wants to
achieve and what motivates them. The 1-2-1s are repeated
throughout expedition so progress can be charted, goals
re-assessed and achievements recognised.
Leadership
During each phase, each volunteer has the chance to
lead the group for the day. As ‘day leader’ it is their
responsibility to coordinate the group as they see fit. It
is a great opportunity to try out different management
styles, learn how to delegate effectively and manage group
decisions and actions.
Teamwork
None of our projects or treks could be completed without
the full commitment of everyone in the team. Volunteers
must learn how to work together whilst considering their
different backgrounds and motivations. Every day, the
groups must draw on each other’s strengths, overcome
weaknesses and listen to each other if they wish to meet
their shared goals.
Personal Development Journals
A Raleigh expedition is a great opportunity to learn,
develop and acquire new skills. But in the rush of
expedition, it might be difficult to remember everything
you have done and achieved. That’s why every volunteer
receives a Personal Development Journal where they can
record their experiences and reflect on them once they
have returned home.
motivaciones y metas. Cada día los grupos deben trabajar
juntos enfocándose en sus fortalezas y e ?????????????)??????????????????????????????????????)????????????????????????)U???????????????I??????????????????????????????)?????????????????????????????????????????A??)??????????????????????????????????????????????????)???????????????????????????A????????????????)???????????????????????????????????????????)??????????????????????????????????????????)???????????????????????????????((?((0
