Beauty Industry News USA Silanes Hold Promise For L’Oreal L’Oreal has announced the creation of a creative new ingredient, silanes, that will change the way they develop fine hair products for the better. The research behind the development of silanes, a group of molecules that based on the sol-gel technology invented by a French firm, has been in development for the last 15 years. Silanes have been used in the development of products such as Kerastase, L’Oreal Professionnel, and Vich, and this newest development is likely to enhance even more of the company’s brands. The goal of Aminosilane, the latest ingredient, is to be able to penetrate the hair cuticle and provide longer lasting results for fine hair in products such as sprays and gels. Head of the research and innovation department, Henri Samain, said, “We knew that part of the answer was finding a material capable of penetrating the hair, the big question was how. Following several years of research the ideal solution came with sol-gels.” #BondMoments with Gillette Gillette has teamed up with Jany Temime, the costume designer behind the upcoming bond film Specter to showcase shaving tools with looks from the new film. Vice president of Global Gillette, John Mang, said, “Just like Bond, men look and feel their best when they are properly prepared for any situation that comes their way. By partnering with Spectre, Jany Temime and The Fleming Estate, Gillette is showcasing the precise tools, skills and preparation that men need to be ready for their everyday ‘Bond Moments’.” The campaign will be accompanied by a social media movement in which participants are encouraged to share their #BondMoments after using Gillette products. Europe H&M Celebrates Beauty Launch In celebration of the newly re-launched H&M Beauty collection the retailer hosted an East London pop-up store. The event, held in the Old Truman Bakery started on October 2nd and will run for five weeks, through November 6th. This is the retailer’s first comprehensive line and includes hair and body care as well as a full range of color cosmetics and cosmetics tools. A group of hair, nail, and makeup artists will be on hand to offer visitors who spends £15 or more complementary treatments. Victoria Secret Launches New Fragrance Line UK Spa Center Introduces Product Line The retailer has announced that the new collection gives all consumers the chance to have a bespoke scent for a fraction of the price. A range of 19 scents, some old some new, will be released with the intention of combination. The new additions to the line include; Dream, Exotic, Rush, Romantic, and Kiss. All of the scents, including the brand’s older numbers, have been repackaged to fit the look and theme of the collection. Center Parcs, a UK based holiday retreat line, has launched a line of products to compliment their several spa locations. The line includes seven products ranging from hair and personal care to fragrance. The line will be available for now, through the Aqua Sana spa locations. This is the latest in a trend of spas bringing their lines to market.
