Sensationnel at
BeautyCon
While all companies are making major moves to remain
ahead of the crowd, Sensationnel has certainly become
ahead of their game with their trendy styles as their
marketing. We’ve noticed them more on our social media
feed with their advertisement for Ruwa Braiding Hair
posted on popular gossip page, The Shaderoom and
now attending the biggest beauty show of the season,
BeautyCon! Of course we needed to catch up with the
brand to tell us all about their BeautyCon experience.
BeautyCon took place this past April in New York City
with thousands of influencers, brands and celebrities
in attendance. Necole, our Social Editor interviewed
Kandice Chavous, Sensationnel Digital Marketing
Manager, who has been in the role for almost two years.
It was also a reunion as these two ladies were friends
in college together! Kandice gave Necole her first sew
in. The perfect hair reunion! Check out our exclusive
BeautyCon interview with Kandice from Sensationnel.
Necole: How did Sensationnel get to work at
BeautyCon?
Kandice: “So, I actually went to BeautyCon last year
and my reaction to the event was that we (Sensationnel)
had to be here. So, at the beginning of 2019 when we
were planning our marketing, I pitched out the idea. No
one had heard of BeautyCon, but I thought it would be

a great opportunity to reach a new market, elevate our
brand and continue to expand beyond the beauty supply
store and where were typically found. I reached out to
BeautyCon and we were able to start working with them.
Since December, we’ve been planning and prepping
with them for the show.”
Necole: Tell us about your booth at the show! What
wigs did you highlight at the show?
Kandice: “For BeautyCon, we decided to showcase our
wigs that were mermaid-inspired. We also developed
a wig line that’s called Mermaid Hair. This line will be
dropping soon. Because we offer so many different
product types, we really wanted to show everything
we offer. At the show, we had a product booklet of our
braiding and crochet hair. At our booth, we let the ladies
try on wigs, some of whom haven’t felt comfortable to try
on wigs or haven’t had the chance to do so. In all, the
event was a really good success and the ladies were so
excited to try on wigs, especially the ones with pink and
blue hair that they normally wouldn’t try.”
