eauty store employees gathered to
enjoy a night with fancy dinner, fun
events, and lots of free goodies. To
celebrate its 20th anniversary, the New
York Beauty Supply Association (NYBSA) hosted a dinner party for more than 500 beauty store
owners and employees. President of the NYBSA,
Kim Sungleesik, said, “Tonight is your night, our
dedicated employees of all beauty stores. I am
deeply touched by our member stores closing earlier today for their employees to attend this party.”
Many companies sponsored the dinner; Hair
Zone, famous for its brand Sensationnel, was a
main sponsor. Steve Choi, CEO of the company,
thanked the NYBSA in his opening remarks for
hosting the event and showing appreciation for
store employees. He also said that he hoped such
appreciation would be shown in other regions
as well. Hair Zone’s education team emceed the
hair competition event where six women representing their own beauty stores participated and
wore Hair Zone’s latest hair, Cello. Flavia Sanchez from Special Touch Beauty Supply received
the most stickers from the audience and won first
place. It was a fun event connecting the beauty association, stores, employees, and hair companies.
Suzumi Abe from Toyokalon also attended to
celebrate the 20th anniversary of the association.
She gave a lecture about the excellence of flame
retardant Toyokalon and prepared gift bags for
attendees to take home. Shea Moisture set up a
booth and promoted their latest products. New
Jigu, Royal Imex, and Beauty Plus also sponsored
the event and communicated with store employees.
