1. Were you always interested in writing from a young age?

‘Yes. I started writing stories in primary school. The first ones I really remember were about a superhero teddy bear called Tellina. I was obsessed with her... but then she got pregnant with triplets and had to retire. It was all very dramatic.’

2. How did you get into the career side of writing?

‘Same way as everyone really. I wrote I Heart New York just for a distraction, I was never planning on publishing it, but a friend read it when I was finished and she insisted I send it out to agents. The rest, as they say, is history. It ended up on a desk in HarperCollins and my editor loved it. Next thing I knew, it was a real book.’

3. How do you find the editing process with your work?

‘It's the hardest part. I love writing but then sitting down to do the rewrites, to go back over old ground and fix all the problems - so frustrating. I find the writing so exhausting that then going back to edit seems like torture.’

4. Are there any new books released soon?

‘I Heart London was just published in the UK and will be out around the world soon. After that, it'll be another year until my next book... the time will fly, I promise!’
