Corpus take over the courts in County Netball Finals!

The year 9 netball squad has had a very successful season this year. We have had many highs and lows. The season kicked off with competitive trials for Cardiff and the Vale U14 squad. After 2 strong trials 4 Corpus girls made it into the squad, Emily Adams, Niamh Riordan, Maddie Rayer and Erin Grech. Throughout the season both A and B teams have fought hard in every match -both winning the majority of their games.

By far the toughest match for the A team is against our strongest team Cardiff High, narrowly losing after a very fast pace match. The B team have come out with many wins for this season and went far in their end of season tournament. We had an inspiring netball coaching session with Timmy Cato- the 6ft GS from the Celtic Dragons squad who very kindly gave up her busy schedule to run a session with the Year 7, 8, and 9s. To end the season the A team competed in the County Finals and in their first game narrowly losing to the very aggressive Llantwit Major by 12-13. In the second came Corpus thrashed Howells and kept their heads high for the final match against Cardiff High. Sadly losing to Cardiff high the A team achieved a very well deserved 3rd Place. Thank you to Mrs Hellerman, Mrs Geen, Mrs Lloyd , Mrs Hughes and Mrs Tomos for helping us through out the season.

This season the Year 8 netball teams have progressed immensely. The amount of hard work and dedication that has been put into the sport has been amazing and we have made massive improvements in our skills and movement. Even though not all of the matches went our way, as we got knocked down, we jumped right back up again and worked hard and threw ourselves into another match. We developed our skills not only individually, but also as a team.

The Y'r 8 netball team came 3rd in this years County Finals, one place better than last year. Every game we gave 100% and have loved every second of time on the court. The highlight of our season was our win against Bishop of Llandaff School with a final score of 15-2 to Corpus. Well done girls!

Our Year 10 netball team have had a great season. We have played challenging teams such as Glantaf and St Illtyd's, before coming runners-up in the Cardiff and Vale County Finals. In the prelim to this tournment we beat St John's, Whitchurch and Cardiff High in Talybont. At the finals we beat Cowbridge and Glantaf before narrowly losing to the Cathedral School who were the defending county champions. Finishing as runners-up meant ending our season on a high. We felt we have improved our match play and thank you to Mrs Geen for coaching us.
