Twitter may be an open boundary kind of company as they issue relevant financial statements along with the business ' s code of conduct and other information as it relates to the company and their directors. The company may be so open to the public, that their reputation might be tainted by the things they have published. Though some parts of the company might be open to the public, it may still appear to be closed boundary based on particular information the company may hinder the public from seeing. After Jack Dorsey was forced to leave the company in 2008 due to conflicts with another director, the company had grown somewhat, growing revenue up to 106 million in 2011 and up to 1.4 billion in 2014.
Though revenues grew, cost also grew which caused the company to face some amount of loss( Green 2016). Upon Jack Dorsey ' s return, the company ' s growth had slowed. Users were being driven away as they said that the platform was becoming difficult to use. The reputation of Twitter was that it harbored online harassment and abusive users. The company ' s reward to employees by giving away stocks as a form of compensation for not fleeing the company was diluting the position of shareholders( Green 2016). Due to circulating rumors of the company not being able to capture sale by the highest bidder had turned off quite a few investors including Disney, Apple, and Microsoft.
Due to its negative image which was brought about by cyber bullying and abusive behavior by Twitter users, Twitter has attracted a lot of criticisms which might impact the company ' s stock value on the market. This will result in a fall in the value of the company, which will, in turn, cause the company to become less productive and successful in the future. Twitter is known for its platform of freedom of Speech. The 140 characters social media website which was founded by Jack Dorsey, now a public company on the stock exchange. The staff and directors of the company pride itself in creating a space for users to be free. They do this through creating values and a cultural environment for staff members to feel secure and motivated in order to increase productivity.
