Church Membership. This definition is consistent with that applied by the Acts
of the Church of Scotland when creating an Electoral Register, in the case of a
vacancy.
Friends are those who may not worship regularly but wish to maintain a
connection with the Scots Kirk Lausanne; for example, by being on the mailing
list for Cornerstone.
The Membership Covenant/Membership Promises
We have developed the “Membership Covenant”, or “Membership Promises”,
from a recent Church of Scotland brochure, “Exploring Faith”.
A Church Member (a Member) enters into a Covenant with God the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit. Being a Member means:

Worshipping regularly, reading the Bible and praying
Participating in the work of the Church, including attending Meetings of
the Members
Giving of time, money and skills
Professing publicly loyalty to Jesus Christ

The Congregational Roll is a complete record of the names and addresses of all
persons, adults and children, wishing to be connected with the Scots Kirk
Lausanne. The above Members, Adherents and Friends categories are reflected
in the Roll.
